Rotary Youth Leadership Awards
WHAT? Rotary Youth Leadership Awards is a 3-day, all-expense paid leadership training camp for high school sophomores or juniors and sponsored by a local Rotary club (email us for information on a club near you). RYLA helps teens develop leadership skills including problem solving, team building, self-esteem and confidence through presentations by amazing speakers, outdoor activities and fun, fun, fun!!!
WHEN? September 21-24, 2022 (registration DEADLINE is September 7)
WHERE? Aspen Grove in beautiful Provo Canyon (transportation, if needed, will be provided by members of your sponsoring Rotary club)
WHO? Utah high school sophomores and juniors with a desire to develop their leadership skills, regardless of their past academic performance or leadership experience. Students selected must commit to full participation in the program and attend camp on all dates. No late arrivals or early departures allowed. No exceptions. Students selected will depend on the number of awards the sponsoring Rotary Club has available.
HOW? Rotary clubs recruit friends, neighbors, family members TODAY, then submit students’ names and email to email@example.com not later than September 7. Rotary club representatives will follow each student through the registration process to be sure all paperwork (see below) has been submitted by but not later than September 14!
Rotary clubs pay the registration fee for each attendee, which includes chaperoned accommodations, meals, training materials and all activities, as follows:
- TODAY thru September 1: $350 per attendee
- September 2 – 8: $375
- September 9 – 15: $400
- September 16 – 20: $425
If you club has more students than budget, seek other nearby clubs to sponsor one or more. If you have more budget than student applicants, offer to sponsor a student recruited by another club.
Rotary clubs provide transportation for students and recruit facilitators from their membership to attend RYLA.

· A resume, including work experience, community service, involvement in school and extra-curricular activities, hobbies, interests, etc.
· An essay in good form describing what leadership means to you. Describe your best and your worst leadership experience, or a leadership role which you might undertake in the future.
